A camp near Forres – King Duncan, Malcolm, Donalbain, Lenox, With attendants.

The Captain is talking to Duncan about the battle and describes how Macbeth fought.  Duncan sentences the Thane of Cawdor to death and decides that Macbeth will become the new Thane of Cawdor. Duncan says this about the Thane of Cawdor, “Go pronounce his death, And with his former title greet Macbeth.”
